DOJ Pathways Internship Program Bureau of Prisons Student Trainee (Education Student Trainee)

The incumbent will observe and assist the supervising Education staff in organizing files, researching vendors/partnerships/reentry service providers/programs, compiling reports for further evaluations, developing graphs/tables of statistical data, making calls and collecting data, assembling training materials, assisting with staff visits, and e-mailing general information. Incumbent will receive on-the-job training of instructor work. To be considered for the position, you must meet the following:
Applicants must be current students pursuing a degree or certificate in a qualifying educational institution with an overall GPA of 2.5 or higher AND maintain at least a half time or full time course load. AND GS-03:
Completion of 1 academic year of post-high school study.GS-04:
Completion of two (2) full academic years of post-high school study or associate's degree. This position has a basic educational requirement. Individuals applying for this position must be enrolled in a degree program directly related to the position. In order to be eligible for conversion into the competitive service, the incumbent must meet the degree requirements, as governed by the Office of Personnel Management, for this position.Applicants must also provide documentation from the educational institution verifying current enrollment with at least a half time or full time course load. This documentation may be a Current Enrollment Verification Certificate or a statement of current enrollment or acceptance letter (which verifies all of the required information).The education MUST be from an institution accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. To receive proper credit, you must show the actual time (such as the number of hours worked per week) spent in activities. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
